At Morley Primary School, our school lunches are freshly prepared offsite at The Morley Retreat by our experienced Catering Supervisor, ensuring high standards of hygiene, preparation, and care. The meals are then transported to school and served to children at lunchtime.
We are proud to partner with Apetito, a leading provider of nutritious, balanced meals to schools and care settings across the UK. Apetito is known for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and meeting a wide range of dietary needs. Their meals are carefully crafted by in-house dietitians and chefs to ensure children receive the nourishment they need to stay focused and energised throughout the school day.
Meals cost £3.25 per day and must be ordered in advance on a weekly basis using our new School Grid booking app, where you can easily select and pay for your child’s meals.
School lunches are provided free by the government for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Children may also bring a healthy packed lunch (the School Council voted for no sweets or fizzy drinks).
Lunches are eaten in the classrooms as we have no school Hall. Children serve as dinner monitors to support younger children, and all children are encouraged to tidy up after themselves.
Playtime snacks
One portion of fruit is provided daily for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, as part of the Government's free fruit for schools scheme. Children may also bring a healthy snack from home (fruit, vegetable sticks only). Fresh water is provided at all times. Children enjoy chocolate Fridays, where they can bring in a small chocolate snack.
