Current Development Areas

School self-evaluation

 

School improvement targets (our key issues) are agreed following our on-going school self evaluation. We make use of the Education Endowment Foundation in prioritising our school improvement work, or for development work that may not feature in our key issues. This year we are continuing to work on maintaining an outstanding curriculum which will inspire, support and motivate all pupils, whilst enabling them to have a rich, high quality educational experience; continuing to develop pupil voice throughout school; ensuring governance continues to develop its monitoring role; further developing our links with our partner organisations; and further encouraging parental and community involvement in school.

 

Our current key issues have been set as:

 

  • Support school through a period of adjustment:
    • Ensure staff and pupils’ wellbeing is assured through the school year as we continue to adjust through the Covid19 pandemic
    • Ensure all pupils are focussed in learning and making accelerated progress through the curriculum so they are back on track for Summer 2022 assessment cycle
  • Ensure reviewed curriculum is embedded in all classes with ArtsMark opportunities throughout year and updated progression and assessments in place
    • Support ArtsMark lead and Art Ambassadors to develop ArtsMark programme in school
  • Ensure all pupils have access to the best of the wider curriculum
    • Review and develop progression documents to ensure all pupils build on their learning
  • Implement the new phonics scheme in EYFS/KS1
    • Introduce the new progressive reading scheme throughout school to further support attainment
    • Monitor and assess reading and phonics to further support both enjoyment of reading and reading for information
  •  

    Continue from 2020-21

     

  • Ensure Governors are more informed on school improvement matters by developing their monitoring/link roles
