‘The Morley Feeling Where Anything Can Be Achieved’
A Very Warm Welcome to Morley Primary School.
Morley is a small school with a big heart, set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and serving around 80 wonderful children. While our size allows us to know every child deeply and personally, it is our culture — what we proudly call “The Morley Feeling” — that truly defines us.
The Morley Feeling is built on three simple but powerful values: Togetherness, Love and Passion.
These are not just words on a wall. They are lived every day in our classrooms, on our playground and in our community.
Our recent Ofsted inspection (January 2026) confirmed that Morley securely meets the Expected Standard across all areas, with Behaviour and Attendance awarded the Strong Standard. Inspectors recognised the strength of our relationships, our ambitious curriculum and the positive experience children have here each day.
They described Morley as a place where children feel safe, valued and known — and where learning is purposeful and carefully planned. We were particularly proud that the inspection recognised the lived experience of being a child at Morley. OFSTED wrote:
“With remarkable unity, pupils and staff embrace the passion and sense of togetherness within ‘The Morley Feeling’.”
Our curriculum is shaped by three core pillars:
We believe that words unlock the world. From Early Years to Year 6, we deliberately build children’s language so they can think deeply, articulate clearly and access powerful knowledge across all subjects.
We are proud of our rural Derbyshire setting. Our curriculum is rooted in our community, history and landscape, helping children develop a strong sense of belonging and identity.
We do not simply prepare children for the next stage of school — we prepare them for life. Through responsibility, resilience and reflection, our children grow into confident young leaders with strong character and moral purpose.
Across mixed-age classes, we operate on a clear principle:
Same Curriculum. Same Knowledge. Different Depth. No Ceiling.
Every child accesses ambitious learning, with challenge and support carefully adapted so that all can thrive.
Morley is more than a school — it is a partnership between children, families and staff. We believe education works best when we work together, with honesty, high expectations and mutual respect.
As Headmaster, I am deeply proud of our school and of the culture we continue to build. Morley is a place where children are known, challenged, encouraged and celebrated. It is a place where friendships flourish, confidence grows and futures are shaped.
If you are considering Morley for your child, I warmly invite you to visit and experience The Morley Feeling for yourself.
Together, anything can be achieved.
Mr Taylor
Headmaster
