Art at Morley Primary School
Year Six Leavers Statement
During their time at Morley Primary School, our children develop their love of art through studying a range of traditional, modern and contemporary art. They will learn practical methods and techniques, use a wide range of media and materials and learn about the seven formal elements of art through a well-structured progression of skills and knowledge. As well as learning art and design skills, our children will learn about the history of art as well as analysing meanings and interpretations of well known and local art. Our children will be able to answer 'big' questions through studying art such as 'What makes an artist? and 'What is valid and of quality?'
Our art curriculum is broken down into four main sections:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Theory of Art
Art Progression:
