Who's Who

Who's Who at Morley School

Morley Primary is a small school with 3 mixed age classes.  Our children spend at least 2 years with each of their teachers.  Our staff delight in seeing how eager the children are to come to school each morning.

Morley staff won an award for excellence in the Pearson National Teaching awards in 2016. This is because they are all amazing, and work incredibly hard to give our children the very best they can.

          Morley staff celebrate their award

Come and meet the staff at our school.

Miss Marsland is our Headteacher.  She has been at Morley for 12 years.  She is in charge of assessment, attendance, safeguarding, the humanities subjects, and school development.  Miss Marsland is a National Leader of Education, and also works part time as an Associate School Improvement Advisor.  She works with a teaching school alliance to lead on initial teacher training.

Mr Taylor is 'officially the second best teacher in England, but we know he's really the best'. He is our Deputy Headteacher.  He has taught Class 3 for 10 years.  Mr Taylor plays the piano for all our productions.  He is our SENCo, and is in charge of ICT, English, music, Anti-Bullying, Key Stage 2 and curriculum development.  Mr Taylor won a national silver award for being outstanding.

Mrs Richards is Class 1's teacher and came to Morley 11 years ago.  She teaches Reception and Years 1 and 2.  She is our Early Years lead, our maths coordinator, and is also responsible for RE and PE.  Mrs Richards is also our Healthy Schools coordinator, and she leads on KS1 with Miss Greener.

Singing for Miss Carroll (Mrs Richards)

Our school choir sang at Miss Carroll's wedding in 2017. We visited the beautiful Stanley St Andrew's Church to practise. We made Miss Carroll cry. We would just like to say, Miss Carroll, it is all about you.

Mrs Grundy is also Class 1's teacher, and she also leads on maths and PE, working alongside Mrs Richards. She works on a Thursday and a Friday, while Mrs Richards works Monday to Wednesday. Although she has only worked with us for a year, she was our regular supply teacher for several years before that.

Miss Greener teaches Class 2 where we have our older Year 2s, and Years 3 and 4.  Miss Greener is our  lead for science, design technology and art. She has worked with us for 3 years now.

Mrs Rhodes has been our school business manager for nearly 20 years.  She is responsible for the day to day management of school finance so that Miss Marsland and the Governing Body are kept informed and up to date.  Mrs Rhodes is our lead on first aid and health and safety.  She is our educational visits and school sports coordinator, and leads on Forest Schools and swimming.

Mrs Fenlon works to support both Class 3 and Class 1.  She also runs our before and after school facility Play and Learn. Mrs Fenlon first came to us as a volunteer 13 years ago, but then trained with us as a Teaching Assistant.

Mrs Hart also works in Class 1, and works with our Scheco! to develop the school grounds and other ideas which the Scheco! bring to their meetings. Mrs Hart has been at Morley for 6 years.

Mrs Palmer supports pupils in Class 2. Mrs Palmer came to us 9 years ago.

Mrs Taylor supports pupils in Class 1. Like Mrs Fenlon, Mrs Taylor was a parent volunteer who has since completed her training with us. Mrs Taylor has worked at Morley for 4 years.

Mrs Gedney, Mrs Brown and Mrs Hart are our lunchtime supervisors.  They make sure lunchtimes run smoothly.

Mr McHugh is our Caretaker and makes school clean and safe for us.

Mrs Algar and Miss Richmond are our trainee teachers.  They are based in Class 3 and Class 2, and will be here all year. We also welcome other trainee teachers and students on other placements.
