Morley Village Show

Welcome to the Morley Show page!

The Morley Village Show is now re-branded as The Morley Show and will be held on

Sunday September 12th 2021, 12-5pm at The Morley Retreat, Church Lane, Morley, Derbyshire DE7 6DE.

This year's show promises to be the best to date! We have relocated to the fabulous Morley Retreat with its beautiful walled garden and extensive grounds, enabling us to go bigger, better and to raise even more money for Morley Primary School and St Matthews Church.

Driven by Morley Primary School’s PTA, this year’s show really will have something for everyone, including food stalls, licensed bar, local craft and produce, prize raffle and fairground games plus more.

Our show entries will displayed in the main marquee and the conference hall - and we are delighted to welcome back Derby’s famous Potty Plotters as our judges! With sections open to both children and adults this is the perfect opportunity to get growing, baking and creating over the summer. We offer cash prizes for all our section winners and our ‘Best in Show’ trophy is ready for a new home having spent the past two years in isolation!

BBC Radio Derby’s Andy Twigge will also be returning to host our famous auction – everybody will have a chance to bid on edible produce entered into the show and to take home a delicious cake or perhaps a hamper of fresh fruit & veg.

Admission is free and show entries are charged at just 50 pence each. Please note all entries must be brought into the reception area at Morley Retreat between 9-11am on the day. Our winners will be announced around 2pm.

For further information please keep an eye on our Facebook page:

COVID. We will operate within government guidelines and will only go ahead with the show if we can do so safely and legally in accordance with regulations in force at the time. We are optimistic that we will be able to run a full event!

Morley Village Show and Fun Day - Sunday September 15th 2019

This year's show was a fantastic event - probably our best ever! We had so many entries that the judges needed extra time. Wow! Outside there were hot dogs and a HUGE display of cakes. We had lots of local stallholders, plus many games and activities run by parents and helpers. In the classrooms were all the competition entries of produce and crafts, with our exclusive children's section in Class 1.

Following the competition, there was our annual auction of produce, led by Twiggy himself - Mr  Andy Twigge, supported by our own Dave Freestone.

We had a wonderful day. So very many visitors, family and friends, and lots of new faces.

The hugest of THANK YOUs to all those who supported the Village Show in any way, in particular those who organised the whole day. As a result of everyone's hard work, this year's total raised was a spectacular £1433 - our biggest total EVER!

Last Year's Show - Sunday September 17th

Our annual Village Show took place on Sunday 17th September. Mostly, the weather held off and we had a great day. There were lots of categories for produce and crafts for both children and adults, and lots of stalls and activities, finishing with our grand auction of produce. A huge, huge 'thank you' to all the parents, staff and children who helped in so many different ways. We are delighted to announce that the final total raised was a wonderful £918.47.
Overall best in show junior section went to Alfie with his wonderful recycled model. Best in show adult section was won by Jim Knifton and his white pumpkin.
We have two places available in current Year 2, or for Year 3 in September.
