🌼 What is the Morley Show?

The Morley Show is our village’s annual community event, held every September in the beautiful walled garden and grounds of Morley Retreat in Derbyshire. It’s organised by the Morley Primary School PTA and brings together families, neighbours, local makers, and visitors for an afternoon packed with activities, entertainment, and traditional show fun.

At its heart, the Morley Show is a celebration of local community spirit — raising funds for Morley Primary School, St Matthew’s Church, and community groups that support the event.

• Competitions & traditional show entries (flowers, veg, baking, crafts) with cash prizes and a Best in Show trophy

• Raffle & fundraising stalls supporting the school and church

⭐ Who can take part?

Everyone is welcome — whether you’re visiting for the day, entering the show competitions, or running a stall. Show entry categories are open to both adults and children, making it a brilliant opportunity to get growing, baking, crafting or creating over the summer.

The Morley Show isn’t just an event — it’s a chance for our community to come together, celebrate local talent, and support the school and village groups that make Morley such a special place.

An important part of this community event is our show entries. With sections open to both children and adults, this is the perfect opportunity to get growing, baking and creating over the summer. We offer cash prizes for all our section winners and our ‘Best in Show’ trophy is ready for a new home.

Dont forget our famous auction – everybody will have a chance to bid on edible produce entered into the show and to take home a delicious cake or perhaps a hamper of fresh fruit & veg.

Admission is free and show entries are charged at just 50 pence each. Please note all entries must be brought into the reception area at Morley Retreat between 9.30-10.30am on the day. Our winners will be announced around 3.30pm.
