Morley Metres

           Morley Metres

Morley School is registered with the Daily Mile initiative, but, as always, we like to make things our own! The Morley Metres is based on the Daily Mile, encouraging fitness, resilience and lots of fun. Each half term, we set ourselves a goal with a suitable end prize available to all children.

Our launch event is an exciting sponsored event taking our Christmas letters all the way to Santa in Lapland. We will write our Christmas letters to Santa, and then deliver them by walking, running or jogging the 3,537,338m to Lapland.

This averages at around 1500m, or just about a mile, per child, per day in the 6 weeks between October half term and Christmas, enabling us to reach our goal on Christmas Jumper Day, when the prize will be awarded by our MP Pauline Latham, when she holds her regular visit to judge the Christmas Jumpers.

Can we do it in just 6 weeks? Every metre counts.

Halloween Event this Thursday evening - spooky walk, picnic in a bag, and disco! Don't forget your wellies!!
