Morley Advent Calendar

Morley Advent Calendar

We love to celebrate the magic of the Christmas season with the children - it is one of our favourite times of the year. In normal times, we would begin with decorating the trees in each class, getting the Christmas postbox up, and then holding our annual Christmas Craft day, where all the children mix classes to work in their Houses, completing a range of Christmas crafts, and being taught by all staff during the day. We then move on to Christmas Jumper day, with each class showcasing their attire, and the winners for each year group decided by our MP, Pauline Latham. We have Christmas lunch with crackers, music, and teaching staff serving the lunch; our Christmas Party at Morley Hayes; KS1's Nativity at Church; KS2's performance at Breadsall Priory; a visit from The Bearded One; carol singing in school; singing for the elderly at our local Care Home; and so much more.  Due to the pandemic, several of these events had to be cancelled, or limited.

In order to keep the magic, and just for something different, we have created a virtual advent calendar. Each day, the children 'open' a new door, and discover an activity or treat. We hope you enjoy joining in the fun.

Hello, Everyone,

(A message from Miss M)

Each year, in our last assembly, we read one of our favourite Christmas Books. In 2020, this could not happen as were isolating, so Miss Marsland read it for us from home.

‘‘Twas The Night Before Christmas

We have one place available in Year 3, and one place in EYFS/KS1 for September 2021
