Welcome to Morley Primary School.
Welcome to Morley Primary School. Morley Primary is a small school with a ‘traditional’ village feel, and very up to date standards and expectations. The children say it is ‘a small school with a big personality.’ We have a creative, rich curriculum which was highly praised by OfSTED, and is developed through exciting teaching.
At our most recent inspection (June 2012) the school was judged to be "outstanding" in every one of the inspection criteria. This was our 4th ‘Outstanding’ grading – which places the school amongst the best schools in the country. Morley is currently the only primary school in Derbyshire to have attained 4 such grades – although according to one pupil the accolade was well deserved, ‘Truly awesome – we don’t do mediocre.'
As Headteacher of Morley School, I am passionate about ensuring that all pupils, whatever their needs, are given the chance to fulfil their potential. Ofsted said (April 2009) that 'equality of opportunity is one of the foundation stones on which the school's provision is built' and in 2012 that 'Children have a magical experience at this school'. I am so proud of everything that the staff and pupils have achieved, and thank them for all their hard work and support, We are fortunate to have such a dedicated team of staff, Governors and parents who all contribute so much to enhancing the children's time at school.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
